Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Arts Department of Library Science arranges some social service activities by improving a secondary school, Nong-Saeng Witayakom, in Saraburi Province every year. I am, as a cataloging instructor, responsible for training our Information Studies students to organize information resources in its library. A librarian-teacher previously chose "PLS 3.0 software" for recording all bibliographic data into the library database. Such software seems irrelevant to the current learning environment where students or library users prefer searching information via web interfaces to retrieving book data on dark screen of computers. For this reason, I decide to change the school library's existing database from PLS 3.0 to "OBEC Library Automation System." The latter was cooperatively developed by Office of the Basic Education Commission and King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. The OBEC system was made on the basis of "OpenBiblio" that is one of popular open-sources for small and medium libraries. Video clips showing how to install the OBEC software and other useful files are provided below. They are directly derived from their own websites or primary sources. Please note that I intend to publicize these materials just for educational purposes only. 1) Setting up the OBEC Library Automation System
